Spirit Week
Spirit Squad will be hosting a Spirit Week next week and a Gym Riot on Friday Nov 22 in E block.
- Monday Nov 18 Team Spirit Day (wear your favourite team’s gear)
- Tuesday Nov 19 Part 1 of Cultural Day (being organized with GLOW and Wahkohtowin). Folks from Folklrama Winnipeg from the Indigenous and Nigerian communities will be at RD Parker to display cultural dances and hold workshops for students and teachers. We encourage the student body to dress up in their traditional wear on Tuesday for Culture Day.
- Wednesday Nov 20 Rhyme without Reason (Find a partner and dress with a Rhyming scheme: Candy Cane & Hurricane, Golf Pro & Let it Go, Pageant Queen & Jelly Bean)
- Thursday Nov 21 Throwback Thursday (dress in your favourite decade fashion)
- Friday Nov 22 Grade Colour (Gr 9 – GREEN, Gr 10 – ORANGE, Gr 11 – Blue, Gr 12 – Red)
This is the first of many events that we will do throughout the year to collect points for
your grade level.
Verna Kirkness Education Program
Applications are open for the Verna J Kirkness Foundation Education Program. VJKF Program is for First Nations, Metis or Inuit students currently in grade 11 or 12 who are interested in a career in science. In this program you will get to travel with costs
covered by the program to a Canadian University and experience University as a science student. You will work with masters and PhD students in the lab throughout the week, live on campus and get to explore the city you’re in. The application requires a
400 word essay on why you want to go or a 1-3 minute video, a reference letter from a science teacher or counsellor and an application filled out by you and your parents. Beading Club
Christmas time is on its way! Wanting to make a homemade gift for a special someone? Come to beading club on Tuesdays at lunch in Room 207 and learn how to make beaded gifts for all your friends and family. New members are always welcome and all
supplies are provided.
Bake Sale
There will be a bake sale in the forum on Wednesday, November 20 during class changes run by your local Wahkotowin students.

Prom Fundraiser – 50/50 Tickets
If you have any Prom 50/50 tickets sold or unsold (and cannot sell them) please return them to Ms. Jenkins so they are be redistributed. The draw for the 50/50 is Dec 1, so all tickets and money must be returned before this date.
Athletic Clothing Sale
Trojan Athletic clothing orders are due this Wednesday. Forms and payments can be handed in to the Phys ed dept. The Athletic Council will have samples and forms available at lunch this Monday and Tuesday.
Basketball
Senior girls basketball tryouts outs will begin this week starting on Monday at 3:30 and will continue Tuesday at 3:30 and Wednesday at 5:30 any grade 9-12 girls are welcome to attend.
