Post-Secondary Education Day

A few weeks ago, several universities and colleges visited R.D. Parker Collegiate to take part in the annual “post-secondary education day.” This event was organized to give all grade 11 and 12 students an opportunity to learn more about the different universities and what they have to offer. This event was also a good chance for the students to think more about their education after they graduate from high school.

The annual “post-secondary education day” welcomed several institutions of higher learning to R.D. Parker. They were as follows: The University of Winnipeg, The University of Manitoba, The Canadian Mennonite University, Providence University, RRC Polytechnic, Assiniboine College, University College of the North, and the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology. Each institution had a booth of their own complete with informational pamphlets and displays that showcased the programs that they offer. Friendly representatives were also present to answer questions.

The booths were located in the forum on the first floor of the high school. Each of these institutions also gave presentations in the theatre and in the library. Special thanks were given to the committed team of school clinicians for their hard work in organizing the event. The event made seniors think deeper about their future studies. University and college education, are, after all, very important aspects of finding meaningful work after graduation from high school. Each and every one of us has big dreams for the future. Choosing the right institution will help you chart a path to achieve your dreams.
