May 27 > May 31
Good evening everyone,
This is Bonnie Rempel with your Sunday memo for the week of May 27 - 31. Please have a conversation with your children regarding current marks as we have 15 school days remaining prior to the start of year-end exams. We would like to remind all grade 12 students of the grad assembly during C block on Tuesday, May 28 in the Letkemann Theatre. Tons of information is shared during these assemblies. For those grade 12 students who were preparing to start English provincial exams tomorrow morning, they have been cancelled. In a late email from the Assistant Deputy Minister, Janet Tomy, The Department of Education has suspended the Grade 12 English Language Arts Provincial Exam for this semester. This means that there will be no grade 12 ELA exam at 8:45am on Monday May 24, 2024. You need to attend your regularly scheduled classes on Monday.
The R.D. Parker Parent Prom Committee will be running a 50/50 raffle from Tuesday, May 21st to Monday, June 3rd. Tickets will be available for pick up in Room 123 at R.D. Parker starting on Tuesday, May 21st, and throughout the week, during the lunch hour and at 3:30pm. If you have any questions or need to make alternate arrangements for ticket pick up, please email Ms. Roeckenwagner at croeckenwagner@mysterynet.mb.ca. Please return all sold and unsold 50/50 tickets and money to Ms. Roeckenwagner in Room 123 before Friday, May 31st.
Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning is pleased to have contracted with Rebecca Chartrand, President and Chief Executive Officer of Indigenous Strategy, to assist in the development of a provincial Kindergarten to Grade 12 Anti-Racism Policy, through the planning and implementation of a robust engagement strategy.
The survey linked below is one of several tools developed by Indigenous Strategy to collect engagement data. We would love to invite you to be part of this journey and participate in this survey. The Track and Field team competed at the Zone Championships in The Pas this weekend. Although we are the only AAA school in Zone 11, our Trojans finished the competition with 505 points, 100 more than the 2nd place AA school. Of our 39 athletes, 38 of them qualified for a spot at the MHSAA Provincial Championships in two weeks in Winnipeg! Congratulations on a great weekend, Trojans!
On June 6, Eric Squires will be running an arm-wrestling event right here in our forum. He will be joined by two CAWF (Canadian Arm Wrestling Federation) certified referees to support this one day competition. If there are any students interested in joining this free tournament, please pick up a registration form in the main office. The tournament will be at 3:45 on June 6 in our forum. Take care of each other and always choose kindness.
