The program would allow students to graduate with their high school diploma, as well graduate from UCN with a Health Care Aide Certificate in June 2027.

  • Students would take RDPC courses in first semester and UCN courses in second semester.
  • Students would earn 5 high school elective credits for the credits completed at UCN.
  • The program is free to RDPC students ($5000 savings).

Students who are interested in pursuing the Health Care Aide Dual Credit Program need to speak with Ms. Scallion No later than May 29, 2026. Europe trip

We are pleased to announce that R.D. Parker Collegiate has been selected by Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning as one of the schools to participate in the continuation of the Student Visits to World War Battlefields program for the 2026-2027 school year.

The program, piloted in 2025-2026, enables Manitoba high school students to experience history-focused travel to commemorative sites in Western Europe in conjunction with Remembrance Day.

Trip costs will be covered by the Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning except for spending money.

R.D. Parker Collegiate is mandated to select twelve (12) students to travel to Europe who will be in grade 11 and 12 in the 2026-2027 school year. This student travel group, along with R.D. Parker teacher chaperones, will be departing at the beginning of November for approximately 12 days (dates to be confirmed later).

This is a unique opportunity for students who may not otherwise have the means to engage in travel learning as outlined in the guidelines from MEECL. Requirements for students who wish to be considered for this trip are:

  • 75% or better attendance rate in the 2025-2026 school year
  • No or minimal discipline
  • Credit acquisition will be reviewed
  • Have successfully completed History 30F or have selected History 30F for 2026-2027
  • Complete a four paragraph (minimum) essay that includes the following details: (if you require assistance or an alternative format, please see an RD Parker administrator.)
    • Canada’s involvement in both World War One and World War Two
    • The value of learning Canadian history
    • How this trip will impact you
    • Any additional information that would make you a strong ambassador to represent RDPC at Remembrance Day ceremonies in Europe
  • Deadline to apply is June 1, 2026 @ 3:30 pm

Use the link to apply. Must use your mymlake account: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScLWqSk1rOPgDLtFCSwIL2JSFUqO-KsYhK2cQqH0naK1CxjJw/viewform?usp=header

Students who meet the above requirements and have submitted by the June 1 deadline, will be entered into the lottery draw. Only those students who are selected will be notified.

Other Important Details to Note:

  • Students who are currently signed up to travel on the Vimy 110 trip to Europe (April 2027) can apply to this Canadian Battlefields Europe Trip lottery. If selected, they will be removed from the Vimy 110 trip without financial penalty (working with EF Tours to get this finalized).
    • Students cannot travel on both Europe trips
