The next Parent Prom Committee meeting will be held tomorrow, June 10th at 7 pm in Room 223 at RD Parker. Parents interested in helping with the Enchanted Forest prom event are encouraged to attend so that a schedule for parent help may be made. Help will be needed on Friday, June 21st, Saturday, June 22nd, and Sunday, June 23rd. Please see the attached schedule for additional details. If you are interested in assisting with prom but cannot attend this quick meeting, please email Susan Horvath at shorvath@mysterynet.mb.ca. Thank you to all of the parents who have offered planning and fundraising support for Prom 2024 throughout the school year. The big day will be upon us soon!
Tuesday, June 11 is going to be a busy day. RDPC will be celebrating our athletes during our annual Trojan Awards day at 4:00 pm, our graduates will be participating in their year-end BBQ during the lunch hour and our year-end junior band concert will be happening at 7:00 pm.
Our arm wrestling tournament has been rescheduled to this Wednesday, June 12 at 3:45. You do not have to have any experience, as it is just a fun tournament to introduce you to this sport. We will have certified referees to support this one-day competition. If you are interested in joining this free tournament, please pick up a registration form in the main office.
Summer School has been confirmed. We will be running four/3-week sessions – English, math and science. Classes will run from 9:00 – 2:30 and students will be asked to bring a lunch. Attendance will matter, as we will need to cover the curriculum content prior to awarding credits. Grade 9 and grade 10 students are only permitted to register for courses that they have attempted and failed. English and math will be running from July 2 – 19 and Science and math will be running from August 12 – 29.
Our Trojan athletes have traveled to Winnipeg this weekend to compete in the Track and Field provincial tournament. They will be on the track for a three-day weekend, with 36 athletes competing in individual and team events. All flights, heats and results will be posted on the MHSAA Provincial website, so check it out for the most up to date results. You can also visit the RDPC Trojan Instagram page that Mr. Paradis has done an exceptional job updating. Thank you to all of the coaches who have supported along the way and good luck to our athletes.
Hope you are all enjoying this sunny Sunday as it looks like we are heading into a week of dry weather. Take care, remember to always choose kindness and have a beautiful week.
