Good evening everyone and Happy New Year!
This is Bonnie Rempel with your Sunday memo for the week of January 8 – 12, 2024. I hope your year is filled with laughter and joy as we head into the last few weeks of semester 1.
We would like to encourage you to have a conversation with your children regarding their current grades as we have 14 school days remaining prior to the start of semester 1 exams. Ask them to open student connect so you can see outstanding assignments, current attendance and current marks.
Our grade 12 students will be writing Provincial Exams this week in their English classes starting on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Graduation portraits will be held at RD Parker Collegiate between Monday, January 29th and Thursday, February 1st and may now be booked online at https://schedule.prestigeportr.... Portraits will be taken in the upstairs computer lab, Room 212. Please read the attached Graduation Portrait Information letter from Prestige Portraits/Lifetouch for important portrait planning details, the session fee cost, etc. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mrs. Horvath at shorvath@mysterynet.mb.ca.
'Class of 2024' graduation portrait composites are included in the $35 session fee. All RDPC graduates who have their portraits taken with Lifetouch will have a composite mailed to their homes after graduation. This often takes three to five months.

Please see the attached calendar highlighting the sweat lodge ceremonies offered at McCreedy Park in site 42 for the month of January. I received a beautiful calendar this holiday season with a monthly message that is far too good not to share, as everyone could use a little wellness and kindness as we head into 2024. This month was entitled “Courage dear Heart”. Courage is not the absence of fear, nor is it always confident and loud. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice saying, ‘I’ll try again”, even when you feel afraid. Slowing down takes courage, as does sharing your heart, asking for help, and reaching out to someone. Focus on one act of courage this month.
That’s all for now, take care, always choose kindness and thank you for listening.
