April 29 > May 3
May is music month in Manitoba and we have a treat for you on Wednesday of this week. At 7:00 in the Letkemann Theatre, we would like to invite you to a free spring concert. May Winds featuring the University of Manitoba Wind Ensemble will be performing along side our senior band and our Thompson community band and we encourage you to come and enjoy. What a lovely way to start the month.
RD Parker Collegiate Graduating Class of 2024 is looking for parents and families to help plan and run this year’s Safe Grad celebration. Safe Grad celebration takes place after the Graduation ceremony (Thursday June 27, 2024). Our Safe Grad relies on the parent, family and community volunteers to provide a fun and safe evening to help our graduates celebrate their achievements. If you are willing to help please email Nadine Tripp at Nadine.tripp@vale.com to get more information.
Sticking with the theme of graduation, if you need graduation picture retakes, you MUST sign-up in the main office. Lifetouch will be here on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1.
On Thursday, May 2, RDPC staff and students will be participating in a walk to allow our school community the opportunity to honor the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Our walk of awareness will be starting at 11:00 and we will gather at our sacred fire to offer remembrance, healing and togetherness.
Soccer season is approaching fast! Be sure to register With Thompson Junior Soccer Association before the end of April to avoid the late fees. The season will begin in June and culminate August 9-11 with an end of season tournament. Check out the new trophies on display at this year’s trade show!
