NISA Day 2024
Being able to attend school and not actually do any school work is a rarity. As we all know, school is a place where students come everyday to learn and be taught. It is a structured environment where almost every part of your day is planned. This exact reason was why the events that took place on Friday the 20th of December were so special!
NISA day offered a welcome break from routine. It was the one day of the semester that allowed students to enjoy a day dedicated entirely to fun activities, instead of the customary assignments and classwork. In the days leading up to the 20th, students were directed by teachers on the FLEX section on their student portal, where they were able to sign up for a variety of engaging workshops that were organized by the teachers themselves. Each workshop offered a different creative experience. Students had the opportunity to create personalized leather keychain making with Ms. Scallion, craft beaded bookmarks with Ms. Harwood and Ms. Romanuk, make and enjoy Christmas snack trash bags in the cafeteria while watching nostalgic Christmas movies, such as Home Alone. There were also opportunities to participate in various sports games in the gymnasium such as badminton, volleyball and basketball. For those looking to unwind before the holiday break, there were also workshops designed for relaxation, where students were encouraged to bring video games, board games, books, blankets, anything that’d make them comfortable while indulging in hot chocolate.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of NISA day was the opportunity to participate in activities alongside friends. After a long semester of focused study and assignments, this day allowed students to relax and bond over shared experiences. Whether it was making personalized items, watching Christmas movies together while sipping on hot chocolate, or competing in a friendly competition of badminton or basketball, being able to participate in these activities alongside friends added an extra layer of enjoyment. Laughter and camaraderie filled the halls and students collaborated on projects together or cheered each other on during intense games The workshops created a lively atmosphere where friendships deepened, and new connections were made. Even during the chill-out sessions, gathering with friends to play board games or enjoy a cozy moment with hot cocoa served as a perfect way to unwind and share in the excitement of the season.
Ultimately, NISA Day wasn’t just about the activities themselves; it was about the memories formed and the laughter shared. It provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen friendships while participating in a day filled with creativity and fun, making it a highlight of the school year. NISA day truly transformed the school environment into a celebration of creativity and fun, making it a memorable and cherishable day for everyone involved.
