April 14 > April 17
The Thompson Music Parents Association meeting has been moved to Tuesday, April 15th. All music parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Track and Field tryouts start Monday, April 21st.
We conducted a poll to see what student led conference time worked best for our families. The time that got the most votes was 11:00 am to 7:00 pm with a lunch break from 3:00-4:00. Student led conferences are happening on April 16th and appointments will not be necessary. Just drop by the school at the time that works best for you.
For families of potential graduates, we would like to offer some food after the ceremony, but to do so, we would need to move the ceremony earlier in the day. We will do a vote at student led conference day, 2 votes per family. The choices will be keeping the ceremony at 7:00 pm without food, a 4:00 pm start with hors d’oeuvres/finger foods, or a 2:00 pm start with a full sit down meal. We will give more details on the student led conference day.
Time are tough and groceries are getting expensive so we are starting a couple of initiatives to help out families. The first is a meal kit program. These kits will contain a recipe and everything you need to make the meal (the protein, veggies, spices, seasonings and a foil tray for baking). The first meal will be pork tenderloin, with potatoes and veggies. If you are interested, please respond to the email portion of this message. The first 24 to respond will get a meal kit and if the demand is there, we will increase the number of kits for the next round.
Also we will be doing some grab and go grocery bags. This will be a bag of staples/non-perishables that students can take, or parents can drop by the school and pick up. Again, we will start with 25 bags and it’s first come, first served. If there is a large demand, we will increase available number of bags in the future. These bags may include things like pasta, peanut butter, soups, eggs, bread, rice, juice and canned fruit. The bags will be available for Thursday, April 17.
Just a reminder, there isn’t school on Wednesday (SLC) or on Good Friday, but there is school on Easter Monday.
