Job Fair

On Wednesday May 8th, R.D.P.C hosted its annual job fair in the Trojan Gymnasium. The fair opened at 2:00, and closed at 4:30. If you happened to miss it or did not get to all of the tables, we went around asking the people there who they were and what they were promoting. These were the tables that we got a response from.

We went to the district's own Mystery Lake School Division table and this is what our own superintendent Angele Bartlett had to say about her table: “We're promoting the school district and Mystery Lake. My role at the school district is as the school superintendent. And I am hiring not just teachers . . . we have a ticketed carpenter on staff, we have a ticketed electrician, we have a ticketed plumber. So there's some trades that we also need to hire." If you're looking for any of these jobs for your future, make sure to take the time to check out our own school district for any hiring opportunities!

We also went to our RCMP table and talked with Constable Brett and this quick transcription is what she had to say: “We're here promoting the RCMP and also our jobs as public servants. If you are interested in working for the RCMP or as a public servant, make sure to contact them for any further information you'd like."

Another table we went to was the Debeer Consulting table and this is what Mrs. Debeer had to say about her table and her other security table: “We are the Debeer Consulting security training from Thompson. Basically, we will provide the Manitoba security course and handcuffing, baton and self defense training as well as first aid. We also have the Tataskweyak Security Inc. providing a security service as well. We boast organization, as they work together.” If you're looking for any security jobs they seem like a good place to go.

There were many more tables at the job fair, providing a plethora of employment opportunities for students. From the Boys & Girls Club to Popeyes Chicken, there were tables for every kind of person. If you didn’t make it to the fair this year, we hope to see you there next year!
